Fix ADB Connections on Linux

adb - android debug bridge

I find this way when I have trouble in adb connection on linux. ADB doesn't detect my device. My PC using Elementary OS 0.3 Freya and my device using Spreadtrum SC8830 as its chipset. And I hope this also can help you when you get the same problem like me. (^_^)

1. Make sure your device is detected on your PC. Type lsusb in terminal.

detect usb - fix adb connections in linux

1782 is idVendor
5d24 is idProducts

2. Create “udev” rules. Go to directory /etc/udev/rules.d . and type sudo nano 51-android.rules.

create udev rules - fix adb connections in linux

Add this rule. This is universal udev rule, which matches with all adb and fastboot interfaces regardless of vendor ID :

ACTION=="add", SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ENV{DEVTYPE}=="usb_device", ENV{ID_USB_INTERFACES}=="*:ff420?:*", MODE="0666"

add universal rule - fix adb connections in linux

Save and exit

3. Add Vendor ID to ~/.android/adb_usb.ini. Type this in terminal :

cd ~/.android
sudo nano adb_usb.ini

fix adb connections in linux

And add Vendor ID

add vendor id - fix adb connections in linux

Note : In my case, my device has Vendor ID 1782 (check the first step).

4. Reboot your PC/Laptop, check the adb devices and enjoy.

Cheers (^_^)/
